Style of Ceremonies

I am often asked to perform simple ceremonies. I find that I need to explain what is incorporated into my “traditional” ceremony and my “simple” ceremony. You may be able to identify the style you are wanting by reading the below.

My TRADITIONAL WEDDING CEREMONY can take between 25 to 30 mins, and can be described as having, but not limited to, the following main aspects:

Brides Entrance / walk down the aisle (with music accompaniment)
A story told about the bride & groom by the celebrant (professional & personal and easily identifiable as being about the bride & groom)
Readings by friends or relatives (optional)
A Sub-Ceremony (optional)
Exchange of vows, rings & kiss
Signing Marriage Certificate
Announcement of Husband & Wife
Conclusion of ceremony and exit (with music accompaniment)

A traditional ceremony is the most common form of ceremony if you are inviting 10+ guests.

My SIMPLE WEDDING CEREMONY (legals only/no frills) takes approximately 5-7 mins and consists of:

A brief welcome to friends
An introduction presenting myself as authorised to marry the couple
Exchange of vows, rings & kiss
Signing Marriage Certificate

This style of ceremony can be performed in my office, your lounge room or a backyard or similar. It would normally be performed in front of 2 to 10 guests and will cost from $410-.

Everyone’s idea of their Perfect wedding is different and please, do not think that the above are set in concrete, they are merely the most common ceremonies I have been asked to perform. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss how you would like your ceremony to be.

What sets Fiona apart from other celebrants?

Does FIona help us with the legal paperwork?

Yes, I am more than happy to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) on your behalf. I am linked directly to the Birth Deaths & Marriages portal so I can input your details in one of our first meetings. You may arrange your ceremony to take place 1 month from the date you sign the NOIM.

To complete the NOIM you are required to present to Fiona originals (not photo copies) of Birth Certificates, Passports, Drivers License & Divorce/Death Certificates (if applicable).

Does Fiona offer premarital counseling?

No, celebrants do not personally offer counseling but we do provide information regarding counselling organisations who are specially trained is this field.

As a whole, celebrants believe that a strong foundation is essential for a happy and healthy marriage, and we encourage you to take part in one-on-one or group counseling. If you don't attend prior to marriage then that is your choice, but we encourage you to seek the assistance from these organisations if you are having hurdles in your relationship. We want you to stay happily married.

What is the refund policy?

Fiona Cassar - Marriage Celebrant requires a non-refundable booking fee of $200- to secure your wedding date. In the event of cancellation, the booking fee will not be refunded. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we will work with you to reschedule your ceremony for a future date. My complete terms and conditions are provided to you at our first meeting.
